Is safety guaranteed for skydiving in Dubai?

Let's discuss the gear that will keep you safe throughout your skydiving adventure. Here's a breakdown of what you can expect:

Advanced equipment

  • You'll use state-of-the-art gear. The main parachute is a canopy designed for tandem jumps, ensuring smooth descent and a comfortable landing.
  • Additionally, a backup parachute is always meticulously packed and deployed automatically if needed.
  • Advanced Automatic Activation Devices (AADs) are another failsafe measure, guaranteeing parachute deployment at a safe altitude in case of any unexpected situations.
  • Your harness is designed to connect you to your instructor throughout the jump comfortably.
  • All equipment undergoes rigorous inspections before every single jump.

Experienced instructors

  • Your instructors are highly trained professionals who prioritize your safety above all else.
  • They undergo rigorous training programs and certifications, meticulously maintaining their skills and knowledge.
  • Consider them your personal skydiving gurus – they'll guide you through every step of the process, answer your questions, and ensure you have an incredible and safe jump.

Safety procedures

  • Safety briefings are comprehensive and cover everything you need to know.
  • From proper body position during freefall to landing techniques, your instructor will meticulously explain each step.
  • Pre-jump checks ensure all equipment functions flawlessly and clear communication protocols are established to guarantee a smooth and safe jump.

The Jump process (Safety focus):

Let's visualize the thrilling journey that awaits you!

  • Pre-jump briefing: On the ground, you'll meet your instructor who will become your skydiving buddy. During the briefing, they'll meticulously explain everything – from what to expect on the plane to proper freefall body position for maximum stability and enjoyment. You'll also learn safe and comfortable landing techniques. Don't hesitate to ask questions – your instructor is there to ensure you feel confident and prepared.
  • The plane ride: As you soar skyward, the cityscape of Dubai will unfold beneath you.  Relax and take in the view – your instructor will be handling everything. Safety checks will be performed again at altitude, ensuring everything is a go for the jump.
  • The jump: The moment of truth! With a rush of adrenaline, you'll tandem jump out of the plane with your instructor securely harnessed to you. Feel the wind roar in your ears as you experience the exhilarating sensation of freefall. But remember, safety is still paramount – your instructor will be expertly guiding you the entire time.
  • Landing: As your parachute deploys, the world will slow down, and you'll have a panoramic vista of Dubai in front of you. Your instructor will expertly guide you toward a smooth and safe landing on the designated landing zone. A landing crew will be present to assist you upon touchdown.

Your specific concerns addressed

  • Parachute malfunction: Tandem skydiving prioritizes redundancy. The main parachute is incredibly reliable, but a backup parachute is always meticulously packed for ultimate peace of mind. Furthermore, Automatic Activation Devices (AADs) are another layer of safety. These devices are designed to automatically deploy your parachute at a safe altitude in case of any unexpected situations.
  • Physical fitness: While skydiving is an adventurous activity, you don't need to be in peak physical condition. Generally, good overall health is sufficient. There are weight limitations, but most people can participate. However, there are some basic health requirements to ensure your safety and the safety of others on the jump, such as pregnancy, heart problems, epilepsy, recent head/neck/back injuries, uncontrolled high blood pressure, severe respiratory issues, mental health conditions, or a history of drug/alcohol dependence, may restrict participation
Skydiving companies have specific weight and Body Mass Index (BMI) limitations for safety reasons.
Women: Weight limit of 90 kg (198 lbs) and BMI below 27.5.
Men: Weight limit of 100 kg (220 lbs) and BMI below 30.0.
